Bill Rudin Condo Kills

Do Protesters Have To Leave A Coffin Outside St. Vincent's Hospital, To Demonstrate How Deadly The Rudin Luxury Condo Conversion Really Is ?

Bill-Rudin-Asbestos-Kills-Coffin-Luxury-Condos, Bill-Rudin-Asbestos-Kills-Coffin-Luxury-Condos-Protests

The people, who live around the Rudin Luxury Condo Conversion Project at St. Vincent's Hospital, will live a life of a nightmare for years : they will be living next to a major construction project that will stir up asbestos, rodents, noise, and other construction-related pollution. And this is not even taking into consideration the fact that the luxury condominiums and townhouses are replacing a full-service hospital, meaning, that there is no no where to go if residents (including the luxury condo buyers) have asthma attacks, heart attacks, strokes, or trauma. The Political ECG Lead Has Flatlined When It Comes To Saving Hospitals In New York City

In the 21 months since St. Vincent's Hospital has closed, our political leaders have showed no activity to prevent hospital closings in New York City.

A Beth Israel ambulance was stuck in traffic in front
of a closed hospital in the West Village of Manhattan.

Five hospitals in Brooklyn are in danger of closing, according to The New York Times : Interfaith Medical Center, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, and Brooklyn Hospital Center.

In the case of St. Vincent's Hospital, which closed in 2010, leaving a hole in public health in the Lower West Side of Manhattan, activists are seizing on the irresponsible hospital closings as a way to organise for a single-payer healthcare system : "How can we bring a hospital back to our community ? How can we get true universal healthcare ? Come Join the Discussion ! RSVP at the Facebook page for the St. Vincent's Community Assembly."

Amanda Burden Sold Out

The Rudin Luxury Condo Conversion Plan for St. Vincent's Hospital was approved on Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, by Amanda Burden, the Amsterdam Avenue socialite, who volunteers in her free time to be City Planner for New York City. Other political enablers have joined Ms. Burden in aiding the Rudin Family's scheme to convert what used to be the only full-service hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center that served the Lower West Side of Manhattan into luxury condominiums and deluxe townhouses.

Cathie Black's Birth Control Insult

Pull Out Method : Before Cathie Black Can Take A Few Sensitivity Courses, She Should Pull Out That Foot-Long In Her Mouth.

Last week, New York City Schools Chancellor Cathie Black insulted school employees, parents, and their children, after she said that birth control would solve overcrowding in Lower Manhattan schools.

"Could we just have some birth control for a while?" Black is quoted as having said, according to The New York Daily News. "It would really help us."

The schools chancellor added insult to injury by making another insensitive comment about the movie, Sophie's Choice.

One of the major problems facing New York City is that building and planning officials, such City Planner Amanda Burden, have taken part in an orgy of over-development : so many zone-busting high-rise apartment and condominium towers have been built in New York City without regard to the city's underlying infrastructure, such as school capacity or the number of hospitals in Lower Manhattan.

After she's done with each of issuing apologies for her insults and taking sensitivity courses, let's see Ms. Black's proposal for the construction of schools in Lower Manhattan, to match Ms. Burden's vision for an over-crowded and over-built Manhattan, one stuffed with so many Subway sandwich shops that New York City has consequently become such a huge turn-off.

NYC has been disfigured

Can anybody recognise New York City anymore ?

Suzannah B. Troy gives us a preview of Amanada Burden's speech, scheduled for later this morning.

"One huge reason Mike almost lost to Bill Thompson," Suzannah B. Troy wrote on her blog, "was he and Amanda Burden displaced so many New Yorkers and made over our city like a bad plastic surgeon."

Suzannah's video has already been picked up by Queens Crap.

Manifest Destiny

Billionaire Michael Bloomberg, whose hobby is using the City Council to skirt the City Charter, and socialite Amanda Burden, whose own hobby is city planning, are modern day imperialists, only they operate in New York, where they are abusing eminent domain to rob Native New Yorkers of their land and property rights. Just like ethno-centric European settlers, who rounded up and moved Native Americans off of their lands, Mayor Bloomberg and City Planner Burden are the source of massive displacement of Native New Yorkers.

Present day city planning projects and policies are having serious consequences for native New Yorkers : look at the legions of people, who have had to flee from the unaffordable rents of East Village apartments, only to have to resettle in other area codes. Look at how entire swaths of Manhattan no longer have a hospital ; the Lower West Side used to be served by St. Vincent's Hospital, before other megamillionaires, the Rudin family, began to salivate at the idea of converting the former campus of St. Vincent's into still yet more luxury condominious. How many steam pipe explosions, Con Edison manhole fires, the Queens blackout of 2006, construction crane collapses, dangerous sidewalk electrocutions, or subway budget blackholes have happened under Mayor Bloomberg and City Planner Burden ? When will enough be enough ?

To add insult to injury, now comes City Planner Burden, who will be speaking tomorrow at what would be an unconscionable venue of the National Museum of the American Indian. But remember, these people so easily rob us of our property rights, so they naturally have no conscious.

The title of the speaking seminar is : The Changing Face of New York’s Neighborhoods: A Population Update. Meanwhile, I can tell them that the city's population is changing, precisely because the population is fleeing as a direct and deliberate outcome of the mayor's and city planner's cold and heartless city planning policies and real estate development deals.

Seating at this disgraceful public event is naturally limited and subject to screening by the mayor's office, but just in case you can lie your way in to heckle at the city planner, the mayor is asking you to call his Special Projects Office at (212) 788-2569, or send an e-mail to nycintern@cityhall.nyc.gov. The mayor's office is asking you to please include your name, agency and phone number.

With their displacing real estate development deals and construction crane accidents, Mayor Bloomberg and City Planner Burden are resettling Native New Yorkers either into other boroughs, into New Jersey, or into early graves, therefore making more land in Manhattan available for homesteading by wealthier, white Americans.
