Bloomberg : Let Them Eat Cake

From True News From Change :

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the city's lack of affordable housing is a 'good sign' of a vibrant economy, because 'more people want to live here.' Advocates slammed the mayor's comments as 'absurd' -- and insensitive toward people being squeezed out of their homes by rising rents. 'OUT OF TOUCH' : Bloomberg under fire for calling city’s lack of affordable housing a 'good sign' of Big Apple's vibrant economy (The New York Daily News) * Critics called his housing comment out of touch. Mayor : Homelessness a ‘good sign’ (The New York Post) * Pity rich Rachael Sacks, who, in the style of some in her generation, blogs every last thing that’s in the folds of her brain, including how a cashier at Gristedes looked like she was judging her because “I grew up with a decent amount of money in a decent rich area.” Her parents must be proud (The New York Daily News Editorial) * I’m Not Going To Pretend That I’m Poor To Be Accepted By You (Rachael Sachs) * Bloomberg : I'd Walk A Mile In Rachael Sachs's High Heels (The New York Post)

Bloomberg: "No One Is Sleeping On The Streets"

Mike Bloomberg is blind to the homeless problem. No surprise.

Homeless advocates are criticizing Mayor Michael Bloomberg's assertion that "no one is sleeping on the streets," after he was asked today about a report that the city shelter system is turning away families during cold winter days. (NY1)

How can anybody take Mike Bloomberg seriously, if he is so blind to his own elitist worldview ? Will anybody take him seriously when he makes an endorsement in the mayoral campaign ?

Lady Bunny's Fireworks Message

Courtesy of @Lady Bunny from FaceBook :

"If you aren’t concerned about the current state of affairs in this country, you’re no patriot. And if your love for this nation is confined to waving a stupid flag one day a year and you aren’t ready to pitch in and help get us back on track, by the next 4th of July you’ll be lucky if you can afford a damn hot dog. Luckily, you’ll still be able to enjoy the fireworks even if a foreclosure has made you homeless."

An angel feeds the hungry in Queens

While Mayor Michael Bloomberg complains about the amount of money that the city spends on helping the homeless and those less fortunate, an angel named Jorge Munoz is feeding over 100 people each night in Jackson Heights, Queens.

Instead of simply shifting the cost of helping poor people to different places, as Mayor Bloomberg's homeless program does, what Mr. Munoz has been able to accomplish is to show compassion, humanity, and caring for the people who are -- and belong in -- our community: our neighbors.

How about throwing out the biggest bum himself -- Bloomberg ?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration is rounding up homeless people and offering them one-way tickets to send them back to their original home towns.

ABC News is reporting that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has been operating a controversial program that is forcing out homeless people from New York City.

This callous and insensitive program banishes the homeless to where ever they originally came from.

'' The program, which has been in operation since 2007, has sent people back to Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, Puerto Rico and even Paris. Sometimes the travel comes with big price tags like $2,500 to go to South Africa.

'' Bloomberg has defended the controversial program, saying relocation is much less expensive than spending up to $36,000 per year to keep a homeless family in a shelter. "This saves taxpayers of New York an enormous amount of money," Bloomberg said. "Also keep in mind nobody's forcing these people to go. They want to go." ''
