Judge Rules That NYPD Made Illegal Arrests During 2004 GOP Convention

Judge Rules That The Mass Arrests Carried Out By The Bloomberg Administration During The 2004 Republican National Convention Were Illegal

Federal District Court Judge Richard J. Sullivan has ruled that officers with the New York Police Department illegally arrested large numbers of protesters at a demonstration on Fulton Street in Downtown Manhattan during the 2004 Republican National Convention, The New York Times has reported.

Judge Sullivan's ruling faulted the Bloomberg administration for having "lacked the required probable cause because the police were unaware of whether each individual protester had broken the law," The Times reported.

“With this ruling,” said Christopher T. Dunn, a lawyer with the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), “the time has come for the city to put this controversy behind it, to settle the rest of the convention cases, and to make sure that mass arrests never happen again here.”

Mr. Dunn noted that the judge had “emphatically rejected the city’s claim that it could make mass arrests of protesters.”

The NYCLU represents some of the activists, who were arrested.

For Bloomberg and Bush, Crotch is the Focus of Pictures

At 2011 Inner Circle, Leather Straps Focus Your Attention on Fluffed Crotch, Puffed Media Coverage

Readers of The New York Daily News are flipping out, because the newspaper reported that Mayor Michael Bloomberg swung from a chandelier in a spandex body suit but could not report that Mayor Bloomberg was booed at the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire ceremony just the day before. Read three scathing comments that were posted in a row :

nyc_tuber : 4:36:14 AM : Mar 27, 2011 : So we're supposed to like this fascist billionaire who stole a third term and sold NYC out to the highest bidder and screwed over police, firefighters, schools, the homeless, and everyone else because he puts on a wig? Crawl back under your rock Mike and take your henchwoman Christine Quinn with you.

hjo4 : 8:05:16 AM : Mar 27, 2011 : The NYDN tells us about Mayor Nero er,I mean Bloomberg antics while parts of NYC is burning. Also this paper fail to mention: Go to youtube Bloomberg booed Triangle shirt factory. The media is covering for him and refused to report he got booed non stop.]-- Why not the NY media is an extension of the Mayor Office, nothing more. It's almost like living in a Communist country. The media parrots the Mayor and nothing more. The public is wise to the media.

KingJay : 8:44:03 AM : Mar 27, 2011 : So the Daily News and Bloomberg have now decided that THIS IS FUNNY? REALLY ?!? Not only do you ingore the people at every opportunity, not only do you slap the people in the face with your Bike lanes and unqualified croniies, but NOT IT'S A FK"N JOKE ?!?!?!? Impeach this P.O.S. NOW !! This is a blatant "Go Screw Yourself New York" Glad this rag of a paper finds it so G.D. funny

Bloomberg opposes free speech

Freedom of Speech doesn't exist under Mike Bloomberg's version of New York.

"Shocking video clips of police brutality and arrests during the 2004 Republican National Convention in New York City. Mayor Michael Bloomberg directed the NYPD to stifle Constitutional rights of free speech and freedom of assembly by stopping any 'protests' that may embarrass George W. Bush and the Republican party. Clips in this video are two days before the Convention even began, when police arrested 250 people during the Critical Mass bike ride, a non-partisan event which has occurred every month since 1994. Even more shocking, many of those being arrested had nothing to do with the bike ride, but had the misfortune of crossing the street while this was happening. Clips are from the documentary 'Watch This!' by Glass Bead Collective released under a Creative Commons (CC-BY-NC) license."

Bloomberg arrests protesters at GOP Convention

Bloomberg loves Bush

"In 2004, during the Republican National Convention in New York, Mayor Bloomberg attempted to stifle free speech by denying permits for any protests. He then directed the NYPD to arrest anybody who was demonstrating."

"Police sealed off streets and surrounded peaceful crowds with netting, and proceeded to beat and arrest people indiscriminately. Even spectators and passerbys were arrested. People who were arrested were held for days in a filthy former bus depot."

Mike Bloomberg endorses miserable failure and radical Republican George W. Bush.

Mike Bloomberg is a Republican.

Veterans reject Bloomberg

Veterans groups AWOL from Mayor Bloomberg's list of endorsements

From The Daily News :

"Mayor Bloomberg appears to have a veteran problem. As of last week, his campaign counted more than 400 endorsements - but just one of them was from a veterans group. And that group doesn't even exist.

"...Bloomberg hasn't reached out to soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, hasn't done enough to help homeless or addicted vets, and hasn't gone out of his way to help veterans get jobs and housing.

"...And Bloomberg has been to only one servicemember's funeral in more than three years."
